Happy face!!!!

In the story happy face by stephen emond is a story about a young boy . As a boy named _____ (aka happy face ) takes us through his sketch book / diary we go on an adventure .HAPPYFACE is presented as a sketchbook, full of drawings, written text, pasted-in e-mails and online conversations, etc. This format truly lends itself to capture extensive insight into the mind of an adolescent male. It also makes for a fun read. The character of Happyface is one in which most teens can relate. He has problems at home, he’s shy and awkward around the opposite sex, he’s carrying some emotional baggage, and he desperately wants to fit in. Plus he has a great sense of humor that comes alive in many of the drawings and the occasional comic strips scattered throughout. The sketchbook format is wildly popular among younger readers, but it hasn’t gained wide popularity for adolescents just quite yet. That is about to change with the funny and endearing HAPPYFACE.

WHAT ARE OTHER WORDS FOR LOVE ?/

In the book " Other word for love " the main character Ari Mitchell feels invisible at her Brooklyn high school. Her hair is too flat, her style too preppy, and her personality too quiet. And outside school, Ari feels outshined by her beautiful, confident best friend, Summer. Their friendship is as complex and confusing as Ari’s relationship with her troubled older sister, Evelyn, a former teenage mom whose handsome firefighter husband fills Ari’s head with guilty fantasies.

When an unexpected inheritance enables Ari to transfer to an elite Manhattan prep school, she makes a wealthy new friend, Leigh. Leigh introduces Ari to the glamorous side of New York—and to her gorgeous cousin, Blake. Ari doesn't think she stands a chance, but amazingly, Blake asks her out. As their romance heats up, they find themselves involved in an intense, consuming relationship. Ari's family worries that she is losing touch with the important things in life, like family, hard work, and planning for the future.
When misfortune befalls Blake's family, he pulls away, and Ari's world drains of color. As she struggles to get over the breakup, Ari must finally ask herself: were their feelings true love . . . or something else?

Are you POSSESSED!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

In the book "Possessed" by Kate Cann , the main character Rayne is a scared girl who lives in London and wants a new life. For example when Rayne finds out that there is an available job in a spooky house ,she finds out she can work as a waiter. she tells her mother and her boyfriend all these lies about how the jobs offers a house , a lot of money and many other lies .

All Rayne can think about is escaping her miserable life in London.  She lives in a rundown, crime laden, and crowded housing development with no real prospect of getting out.  Rayne also feels suffocated and trapped by her mother, caring for her baby brother, and her controlling boyfriend, Damian.  She struggles to maintain her sanity amid all the noise and neighborhood violence.  Rayne has the opportunity to take a break from her studies and decides to take a job at a secluded country estate, Morton’s Keep.  The very idea of being near the mansion late at night paralyzes the locals with fear.  Eventually, Rayne makes new friends and becomes enamored with the very creepy and mysterious St. John.  Not only does Rayne believe that her newfound friends have something to hide, she becomes suspicious about the history surrounding Morton’s Keep and as she delves deeper into the Keep’s lore she finds a lot more than she bargains for. This book shares a lot of real life issues. For example, Rayne does not possess an idyllic family life to say the least.

I rate this book  a 9 out of 10 because it is verfy intense ang sespenseful. Also this book is full of mysteries and shocking things. The most shocking part of this book is the ending!!!!

Am I really blue?

In the short story , " Am I blue ? " by Bruce Caville the main character Vince goes to a whole different world , with his new fairy-god........... FATHER!?!?! Yes , he has a fairy-godfather named Melvin . Melvin helps Vince go through a day where people can understand the real meaning of being gay, Melvin teaches Vince that people aren't always what they seem .Many people think Vince is gay , but he is not sure weather he is or isn't . Melvin picked Vince as his first case because he can relate to Vince. He understand what Vince is going through or went through , because it happened to Melvin himself years ago before he died and became a fairy-godfather.
This story sends a lot of messages or themes to kids and adults around the world . But there was one theme that caught my eye the minute i started reading this , and it was 'Don't judge a book by it's cover". I thought this was the theme because many people think they know someone or there history just by looking or glancing at them but truth is you don't know anyone's story or how they feel just by looking at them on the outside , people don't understand how people feel on the inside.
For example Vince isn't sure yet if he is gay or not but many people think he is just by looking at him. People such as Butch think people are what they seem on the outside and leave behind the fact that Vince has feelings . Another example , is when VInce got sent to the blue world and he realized that many people who he thought were gay or seemed where gay were actually not . Like Ms. Thorndyke the librarian who the whole city new was gay , but truth is that she wasn't any shade of blue which meant that she was 100% straight .
"Can't tell without a spell , straights are helpless at it .They're always assuming someone is or isn't for all the wrong reasons" Melvin said . I can relate to this quote because it basically summarizes my whole response .
To conclude this response I just want to say that if you are looked at a certain way or talked about in a way where people just look at you and assume , walk up to that person and recall everything that isn't true and make sure you tell that person "don't judge me if you don't know the real me !!!"

WHAT IS THE THEME OF DRUMMER BOY OF SHILOH?

what was the theme of the story "the drummer boy of shiloh" , and how does connect to the real world?
The theme of the story "the drummer boy of shiloh" is to never give up and be brave . This is the theme because at the beggining of the story the main charcter Joby is imterested in joining the war as a drummer boy but he doesnt think he can do it . towards the middle he began thinking about it and didnt beleive he can do it or be the person that he wanted to be. But at the end he became confidente and brave . This theme can connect to the real world because if you dont believe in yourself and echive your goals your going to make no where in life . you can never give up and dout yourselve .

LIAR BY JUSTINE L.

This summer i read a book called Liar by Jusine L. The book liar is about a girl named micah who goes thought a whole lot in one year , for example Micah's boyfriend died and she doesnt want to believe he died so when people say "Micah , im sorry for your lost ! " She acts like she doesnt know what an one is talking about.
The theme of this book is that never stop believing and when things happen you just have to face it . This is the theme because I think Micah is brave and she doesnt understand that he is in a better place and when something goes it was meant to happened, or it happened for a reason. Micah is brave towards the end of the book because she now undestands that eople are meant to go and that it there turn to be some where else .
I would give this book a 5 (1-5) because it is a really good book and i think it gives real people a good message and helps people learn abvout the real world and what its going to be like as they devolp and get older.

Drummer boy of Shiloh

The war of Shiloh was one of the bloodiest wars known , so what does it have to do with and drummer boy ?
During wars people would want a drummer boy to get them hype and ready to fight , in this story the general of this war choose all new soldiers who never had experience to join his army .But he didn't have an drummer boy. The main character Joby thought it was a good idea for him to be the drummer boy of this war but wasn't quite sure .For example when Joby thought "me thought the boy ,I only got a drum , two sticks to beat it , and no shield", this made think that Joby felt like he was no one and he didnt believe in himself .
Towards the end Joby started to feel more confident and started believing in himself more . He started to understand that he is not the only ongoing through tuff times . For example when the general said " you want to cry some more , go on ahead. I did the same last night " , this made Joby shocked and made him understand that there is hard problems in the world but if you believe in your self you can face those problems .
